FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


All meal kits and other food orders can be hand-delivered, or can be picked up from the New Scenic Café.


Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.



FRENCH RIVER BRIDGE CLOSURE


Beginning on June 1st, 2020 the North Shore Scenic Drive bridge at the French River will be CLOSED to be torn down and rebuilt. This closure will cut off the primary route used to access the New Scenic Cafe from the south.


During this closure, the ONLY access to the Cafe will be via Homestead Road from the north. If you are unfamiliar with this route, please reference one of the Google Maps links below.


We do not know when this project will be completed. If you are placing an order from ‘Mise en Place Marketplace’ for pickup, please plan accordingly. While not dramatic, it does add about 4 miles (one way) to the trip.




GENERAL F.A.Q.


How do I place an order?


  • All orders must be placed through our website at newsceniccafe.com, and paid for with a credit or debit card.

  • We CANNOT accept orders over the phone. We CANNOT accept orders via in-person drive-up.


Can I purchase wine or beer with my order?


  • Any wines & beers offered are available for PICKUP ONLY.

  • In accordance with Minnesota State Law, we CANNOT deliver any alcoholic beverages.

  • Alcoholic beverages CANNOT be purchased alone. They MUST be purchased with food.


Can I use a New Scenic Café gift card to pay for an order online?


  • No, we are not able to accept gift cards as payment for any online purchases.

  • New Scenic Café gift cards are valid only for use on-site once the Café reopens.


Can I change my order after it has been placed?


  • Requests may be made for additions, subtractions, or other changes to an order up until midnight on our order deadline days (see below).

  • If you wish to change your order after a midnight deadline, your order will need to be pushed to the next available delivery or pick-up day.


Do you offer substitutions or exclusions for any products?


  • We cannot substitute or exclude any ingredients. All of our meal kits and other foods are made and packaged identically.

WHERE do you deliver?


  • Hand-delivery is available within a 30-mile radius from Duluth City Center. Map shown for reference*

  • We do not currently offer shipping for any products.


WHEN do you deliver?


  • Orders placed on Sunday through Wednesday will be delivered on Friday.

  • Orders placed on Thursday through Saturday will be delivered on Monday.

  • All deliveries will be made between 12:00pm and 5:00pm.

  • Based on demand or unforeseen circumstances, it is possible that some deliveries will be pushed to Saturdays or Tuesdays. You will be notified ahead of time if this is the case.

  • We cannot accept any requests for specific or alternate delivery days or times.


HOW should I prepare for delivery?


  • To minimize person-to-person contact, deliveries will typically be placed at your doorstep. If you would like it placed elsewhere, please include details in the "Special Instructions" text field when completing your order.

  • Due to refrigeration needs, we prefer that someone is available to receive products at time of delivery. If you are not able to be present at time of delivery, please provide a cooler for us to leave your items in.

WHERE do I pick up my order?


  • Please pick up your items from the New Scenic Café, located at 5461 North Shore Drive, 8 miles up the North Shore from Duluth.


WHEN do I pick up my order?


  • Orders placed on Sunday through Wednesday will be available for pick-up on Friday ONLY.

  • Orders placed on Thursday through Saturday will be available for pick-up on Monday ONLY.

  • Please pick up your items between 12:00pm and 2:00pm.

  • We cannot accept any requests for specific or alternate delivery days or times.


HOW should I prepare to pick up my order?


  • Turn into the Café driveway, pull in past the front sidewalk, and stop your car next to the end of the building.

  • Please remain in your car. Someone will be available to greet you, get your full name, retrieve your order, and bring it out to you.
